Nigerian’s participation in Peace Support Operations (PSO) dates back to 1960 when General Aguiyi Ironsi led her first contingent to the war ravaging Congo. The successes recorded in this endeavour endeared Nigeria to the international community as a reliable peace partner and has since been an active participant in global and regional peacekeeping. Martin Luther Agwai International Leadership and Peacekeeping Centre (MLAILPKC), previously known as Nigerian Army Peacekeeping Centre (NAPKC) is a globally recognised Centre of Excellence saddled with the responsibility of preparing quality Peacekeepers for the multi dimensional challenges of contemporary PSO.
As part of its renewed mandate, the Centre offers Leadership development courses (LDC) to bridge the gap in leadership training especially amongst prospective future leaders. The LDC courses were introduced in 2019 after the approval by the Centre’s governing board. They were developed to inculcate into participants the qualities of good leadership that are essential for career and organizational success in any endeavors they may find themselves. These Courses are open to members of the Armed forces, Police, Paramilitary Agencies, Ministries, Departments and Non Governmental Organisations. I encourage you to be part of these courses for a life transforming experience.
